Drama reviews! -part 1 lol!

Here are my reviews for all of the dramas that I've seen so far:

  ATASHI NO DANSHI

Synopsis:

"Chisato, lost her mother at a young age due to sickness. She spent her youth trying to escape from the huge debt her father left her, and her battle with the re-possessors unfolded every night. However, her life changed after meeting one man named Shinzo, changing her views on the meaning of "family." Shinzo comes from a rich family tracing back to the Edo period, and he adopted six good-looking sons with the hope of one becoming his successor, but all of them have strange personalities. Shinzo promises to free Chisato from her debt if she marries him and becomes the mother of his sons. However, a life with these six guys under one roof will not go smoothly... "

My comments

This is a wonderful and quirky story that makes you laugh. I absolutely adore this drama and it's light hearted tone, which is perfect for watching when you've had enough of the emotional roller coaster type dramas. When it's miserable cold weather outside, snuggle up in bed with a luxurious mug of hot choc and a hot water bottle on your cold toes, let yourself become engrossed in a short but sweet tale that will spark your imagination.

OVERALL: 9/10

  BAMBINO!

Synopsis:

"A drama adaptation of a popular comic written by Sekiya Tetsuji. After a year of working at a neighborhood Italian restaurant, Ban Shogo (Matsumoto Jun), an enthusiastic, cocky young college student from Fukuoka, comes to Tokyo to perfect his cooking skills as a chef in Italian cuisine. He discovers he has much to learn and has to continually prove himself to the very competitive, quick and efficient staff at the upscale Italian restaurant."

My comments:

There is no doubt that if you want to know about Italian cooking, working as a chief or are just obsessed about food, you might find 'Bambino!' one of the best cookery dramas. If you are looking for a story with a huge depth, twists and magical happenings, you'd best look for something else. 'Bambino!' is a gritty story with no sugar, just salt! After watching Matsumoto Jun in the likes of 'Hana Yori Dango' and 'Kimi Wa Petto' I thought I had watched the limits of the variety of this kid's one eyebrow lifting talent. Watching Matsumoto in 'Bambino!' was like how a kid feels when they discover a new thing their old toy can do! I must admit the main themes of the drama I personally found uninteresting but I found myself drawn in at some point to Shogo's character and developed a need for him to achieve his goals. It's this element that makes it a successful drama but if the subject is not something that interests you, it might be a hard time to ride out to see the outcome of the story. Take my advice and watch the first episode, if you find yourself bored, don't watch it any further, one look at those frustrated eyes and you'll have to watch it to the end, unless you're inhuman!

OVERALL: 7/10 (wasn't my fave topic)

Boys Before Flowers BOYS OVER FLOWERS

Synopsis:

"Jan Di is an average girl whose family owns a dry-cleaning shop that is located near the luxurious and well-known Shin Hwa College. Jan Di meets the four richest and spoiled boys when she delivers laundry to the school one day. The boys are known as the F4 and cause trouble to those who speak out against them."

My comments:

For those of you who have watched the other versions of this drama, which are "Hana Yori Dango" and "Meteor Garden" and enjoyed it, may want to watch this Korean version. Extras have been added to the story line which round everything that much more better like secondary characters back stories and more of a rivalry between the 'Rui and Domyoji' equivalent characters. Jan Di's character has been made more capable to cope with all the rotten situations thrown at her and more smarter than Tsukushi's character.

For those of you who haven't watched any of the previous versions of this drama, watching this will take you on a wonderful journey and a roller coaster of emotions, just make sure you have a pillow handy to hide yourself during the painfully embarrassing moments, and are sitting in a sound proof room so your shouting at the screen won't disturb and freak out the people you live with!

OVERALL: 8/10

 COFFEE PRINCE!

Synopsis:

"The life of Go Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye) is not easy; she works many jobs to pay off debts and even gave up her feminine image. Choi Han Kyul (Gong Yoo) is the heir of a big food company, but his grandmother wants him to settle down, so she arranged many dates for him. After Eun Chan bumped into Han Kyul and was mistaken for a boy, Han Kyul decided to hire Eun Chan to be his gay lover in order to avoid the arranged dates. Desperately in need of money, Eun Chan had no choice but to accept. Han Kyul's grandmother also made Han Kyul in charge of a filthy coffee shop in danger of being bankrupt. Eun Chan begged to work at the coffee shop, and not long after, feelings start to spark, except, how would Han Kyul accept his "homosexuality"?"

My comments:

Yoon Eun Hye, is a lovely actress. I have followed her around since my first drama 'Goong Princess Hours' and found it rather a shock to see her dressed in boyish attire and short hair! What's more shocking is the amount she eats for this role! *elegant image has now been erased* This drama has a wonderful mix of humour with a bit of seriousness thrown in and the relationship between the main characters is pure gold. The 'princes' are cute, I mean who doesn't like Kim Jae Wook selling waffles? This is a heart warming tale that you are sure to love.

With this blog I intend to showcase my works of art, stories and also reviews of Asian dramas!!
The pic above is a self portrait that I created a couple of months ago, it's a bit bad in some parts as I rushed the end, but it's been a long time since I created a personal piece of work! I'm posting it as it's original size as it looks quite bad from further away, this is yet another problem I need to address, but currently I have no time or even a life for that matter because of University demands! *rolls eyes* I'll start to post stuffs up tomorrow, I'm tired and want to catch up on some dramas! lol plus my dog is asking for a cup of my water even though she knows very well that there is a nice bowl of water out in the kitchen!
